Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to announce the 17th International Congress of Physiological Anthropology. We are thrilled to gather in the Netherlands to celebrate the remarkable advancements and diverse perspectives on Planetary Health and Human Adaptation.

Physiological Anthropology, as a discipline, bridges the gap between the biological and social sciences, offering profound insights into human adaptation, health, and well-being in an ever-changing world. This meeting will bring together leading researchers, scholars, and practitioners from across the globe, to understand the intricate relationships between human biology, culture, and environment. Over three days, we will engage in stimulating discussions, share research, and foster collaborations.

Once again, we are looking forward to welcome you to the Netherlands, and thank you for being part of this extraordinary event.

On behalf of the ICPA 2025 scientific and organizing committee,

Can Ozan Tan, University of Twente
